My name is Tammy "TAZ" I would love to help you capture your memories.
So want to talk to you about what kind of cancer I fight every day. My cancer journey started back in 2018. May 1,2008 I was finally confirmed that I had breast cancer May 1,2008. On May 12,2008 I had my right breast removed cause was cancer in many spots. Following year had left removed because had a cyst & did not want take chance of cancer again. I was stage 1, in June 2011 I became re-staged to 2B for they have updated stage cause of size of my tumors. I did a chemo trial after surgery in June 2008. I was clear of cancer for 4.7 years. Dec 20th,2012 I went to Dr after not feeling great. I had test done & was called back same day to tell me the Breast Cancer spread to my liver. I became MBC/stage IV. Started treatment in 2013 & had IV Port put in for my birthday on Jan 4,21013 @ age 46. I started IV treatment. 2 years later Aug 22,2014 spread to my bones. I lost all my hair when started IV treatment in 2013 & since then I keep my head shaved to show women it is ok to be bald.
Yes, I am dying from my cancer but I try to live each day to the fullest. As long as there is a treatment for me to take I will stay alive. I am on oral chemo for life. MBC is going to kill me one day. Breast Cancer does not kill you but MBC does. I may not look sick to you but I am. I not only fighting cancer but I also have Fibromyalgia, DJD, osteoporosis from my cancer & arthritis. I do not want you to feel sorry for me or pity me, I just want to be treat like you treat others.
Metastatic breast cancer (also called stage IV or advanced breast cancer) is not a specific type of breast cancer, but rather the most advanced stage of breast cancer. Metastatic breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast to other organs in the body (most often the bones, lungs, liver or brain). Many of you do not know what this is, so I am blogging about it.
