Photography & sight

The scariest thing for a photographer is to lose their vision. So you could image me losing my sight how I felt. I was think I would have to give up taking pictures which I love to do. This was very hard for me to even think about. With my business is only a little over year old. I was not very happy about this. I was like this cannot be happening to me not know. Photography helps me keep busy & mind off my cancer.
For about a week or two my vision was getting really fuzzy not blurry. I fight cancer so been not feeling myself. I thought my chemo pill was giving me weird side effects. Come to find out my glucose was 676, yes you read that right. My glucose has been raising for 7 months’ little bit till it hit a coma high. Yes, I did say coma high. I walked into the ER, was talking & looked great. So can be sick & not look it. You would have not known till told you about all that was happening to me. I thought my thirst was because it was hot out. I was drinking a lot of water. Not think glucose was high. Just thought was another side from the chemo pill.
So when went into doctor for blood work I said my vision was getting really fuzzy. I was told because glucose is so high that your vision is going. I stayed in hospital for 4 days to get under control. My vision has always been not great so just thought has you age eyes get worse. Well in my case was not the chemo but diabetes. My eye doctor told me that I did not break any blood vessel which is a good thing. I was told I have very dry eyes. Since been moisturizing my eyes I have gone from near sighted to far sighted. I am just glad I can see again to use my camera & continue my photography business. When you cannot see how can you see the beauty in the world. We take our sight for granted. I am grateful that I can do what I love to do which is capture others memories.
